Daddy brought the whole family out for a little trip to SouthBank in Brisbane last Saturday. Instead of driving up to Brisbane as usual, Daddy decided to take a train as a little treat for Jerral who absolutely adores trains.
The trip first began with a train ride from Helensvale to the beautiful Southbank Park in the morning and the rest of the morning was spent strolling along the Park and the banks of the Brisbane River wandering admist the weekend Art and Craft Markets, strolling under the trellis of the Arbour, taking in the views of the Brisbane River bank and lunching (on Daddy's self created hot dog rolls) amongst the many little cafes dotting the park.
After lunch, it was time for a little cruise along the Brisbane River via the City Cat Ferry before disembarking at Riverside and strolling down to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens where there was an Eco Carnival going on with plenty of music, food and performances to enjoy.
The day was rounded off back in South Bank as Daddy took Mommy and Jerral for a ride on the Brisbane Wheel, fufilling a long held wish by Mommy.
All in all, a very enjoyable day out that was only slightly marred by a dodgy tummy for little Jerral that resulted in a very pungent train ride home especially for the last few stations .......
