Mommy brought Lil' Jarien to his very first Gymboree Class on Sept 28th (Tuesday)..
and Oops.. the poor little baby came home sick with fever and a bad throat the very next day.
So.. off to the doctor and the little baby came home with some antibiotics for his throat which the local doctor has diagnosed as tonsils infections.
After 2 days of medication (Friday), small spots started appearing on Jarien's face, feet, palms and even his bottoms. Daddy and Mommy thought it was mainly due to allergic reaction from the medication and brought the little baby back to the same clinic (but this time round a different doctor) for a check up again.
After several moments with the doctor.. no conclusion has been made on the little one.
Apparently, the local doctor was totally clueless about the spots that had appeared on his body.
Worried Daddy and Mommy brought Lil' Jarien (together with Korkor Jerral) to another clinic to seek a second opinion from a more experienced doctor (from Hong Kong).
This time round, after just one glance, the doctor diagnosed that Lil' Jarien had hand, foot and mouth disease and the baby was to be confined at home for 7 days.
No medication was required and given except children's panadol for fever and pain relief.
Finally after nearly 3 weeks since the terrible ordeal, Jarien has finally recovered and is back to his usual self again!
As for the rest of the family members.. in between the 3 weeks, Daddy, Jerral and Mommy took turns to fall sick.
During the 2nd weeks when Jarien has been diagnosed with HFMD, Daddy has been sicked and was on medical leave for an entire week! Daddy was down with some sort of virus infections which causes severe diarrhea, throat burnt, cold and high fever.
While Korkor Jerral was infected with stomach flu which resulted in similar syndromes as Daddy but with vomiting and nausea added in.
Mommy was down with mild throat and fever infections (infected by Daddy) due to low immunity.
